My dad loved Moonlight, and he's a scifi guy. I think they did a wonderful job of infusing crime thriller, mystery, and just enough romance to appeal to a wide audience.
But like I've said, the networks wouldn't know a decent show if it slapped them in the face.
I'm trying not to get too attached to shows in their first season now.

Yeah, like I said, I was no big fan of Moonlight, etc, but the thing of it is this--Scifi/fantasy shows ALWAYS get the short end of the stick! Remember it took shows like Seinfeld, Cheers, Friends, Mad about You, etc, several seasons to find their audience. But again, that was comedy. With scifi/fantasy you don't get seasons to find your audience, sometimes you get episodes.

Yeah, I can't really compare Moonlight to Buffy or Angel but it had its place. I do think Blood Ties was a better show than Moonlight. Better acting and better characterizations. I was really miffed when they cancelled Dresden Files and I agree with earlier posts. Why invest the time into a show when it's likely not going to be around. It does bode well for books. I just hope networks realize it takes awhile to build an audience and it's not going to happen overnight like American Idol. When you create something so genre specific it takes time..you'll have your core audience folks but it needs to gather in the new.

It was unfortunate that Journeyman was canceled. We really looked forward to that every Monday evening. It didn't surprise me, more often than not the shows I like get canceled, but it is still disappointing.
